Born in 1162, the man that united the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia was not named Genghis Khan, the title given to him, but Temujin. His drive to conquer the world inspired the tribes of his time and his figure continues to be a force in modern Mongolia. His son Ögedei expanded the Mongol empire and his grandson, Kublai Khan united China and founded the Yuan Dynasty.
